Painting for Pleasure
Monday (6.45pm – 8.45pm)
At Painting for Pleasure art classes you will be encouraged to improve your skills and develop your own individual style in a warm and informal setting.
There will be the opportunity to work in oils, pastels, acrylics, charcoal, chalk, pencils, ink, coloured pencils and gouache.
You will discover new skills and techniques including perspective, proportions, line, shape, form, tone, texture, colour, movement and composition.
This course is for people of all levels of ability and experience. By the end of the course you will have learned to:
- use drawings as a starting point and develop initial ideas
- use a colour wheel and understand how to use primary colours, secondary colours, tertiary colours, complementary colours
- experiment with acrylics and watercolours and progress onto a figurative or abstract work
- experiment with oils and development through to a final painting.
No prior experience needed. The course is designed for beginners or those wanting to develop and refresh skills. Occasional research may be required.
Some materials are included in the cost of the course with the exception. You will also need to bring:
